What these rules cover

These rules cover everything an approved seller publishes on Not your Basic Shop: the profile, the introduction, the photos and every listing. The administrator may block anything that breaks them.

Who may publish

Only approved sellers. Approval follows the eligibility rules shown on Become a seller: a parent or caregiver caring for a child with disabilities, offering products or services they make or provide themselves.

What you may offer

Offer only products you make yourself and services you provide yourself.

You are responsible for selling lawfully in your own country and wherever you ship. Some goods — food, drink, cosmetics and health-related items among them — carry licensing, labelling and ingredient rules. Not your Basic Shop does not check them for you and may block a listing that appears to break them. That a category exists on Not your Basic Shop is not permission to list everything that might fall under it.

Do not offer anything unlawful, dangerous or deceptive, and never use Not your Basic Shop to collect money for something you cannot deliver.

Say what is true

The title, description and category must describe what you really offer. A product carries a fixed price with its currency; a service may say Price on request instead. The price must be the price a buyer will actually pay on your own page. The external link must lead to the page where that very product or service can be bought or booked, not to a home page, a social feed or an unrelated page.

Do not claim that anything you sell cures, treats or prevents an illness.

Images

Use images of your own products and services. Do not use someone else's photographs without permission, and do not use stock images that misrepresent what you make.

No image may show an identifiable child — no faces and no other identifying features — either as a profile photo or in a listing. All metadata, including any location, is removed from every uploaded image automatically.

Respect other people

Do not publish insults, harassment or hateful content, and do not publish anyone else's personal details.

If a rule is broken

The administrator may block a single listing or the whole account, always with a reason. A blocked listing stops being shown and can only be deleted. A blocked account's profile and listings stop being shown; the seller can still log in, read the reason in the Dashboard and appeal from there. A repeated or serious breach can end with the account being removed.
